Old Town
I'd intended to visit the nearby island of Bryher today but the only boat was at 9:40 and the first bus would get me into town at 9:37 so that put paid to that plan. The boat times alter daily and are dependant on tides, events, etc. The times are published fairly late on the day before.
Plan B. We stopped off first at Old Town and had a wander round and visited the churchyard where the grave is situated of Harold Wilson and his wife.
I've seen it before but it didn't occur to me previously that the inscription for his wife is on the horizontal stone at the bottom instead of on the main upright stone, as though she was less important. Hmmmm....
By late afternoon both Ziggy and I needed a sit down in some shade, so we went to a pub and sat on the balcony in a shaded area, and I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz with a view across the harbour.
Main photo is Old Town. Flowers are in the garden of a café. The church is in the centre of the second extra to show what a beautiful position it is in, right next to the beach.
