Diary of an Edinburgher

SPY 60!

I took Archie a longer walk this morning, as we had visitors in the afternoon. We set off across the Links and went on down towards the canal - haven't been there for ages! But part way down, he stopped at a door, sat down and refused to go any further. He pulled me into the hallway (the front door was open) and started barking, demanding to be let in. Could it be John's house? I knew he'd been there at least once. But I was ready with an apology if it wasn't. But it was! He charged in, like he owned the place! So that was a fun start to the day. Luckily John & Amanda thought so too.

On down to the canal, where we saw this very flash car, a Rolls Royce Corniche 111. Check out the licence plate! I thought of hanging around to see who owned it, but didn't.

A walk through Tollcross and back home across the Links, wary of flying golf balls. I was very puggled when I got home, but but my big puce face had time to calm down before our visitors arrived. Abi and her mum popped round for tea and cake. Followed by a G&T... Just as well they both had places to be next, or it could have developed into something less genteel…

Watched the first episode of Noel Edmund's' Kiwi Adventure last night, which is set near Nelson. It sounded interesting, and I'd read a fairly good report about it, but OMG - I could barely last a whole episode... I was never a fan of him in the UK, and he hasn't grown on me while on the other side of the world.
