Auckland's youngest volcano
I am hoping that there will be an eruption of rage aimed at David Seymour. In his role of Acting Prime Minister (Luxon is away overseas yet again) he has decreed that the very controversial Regulatory Standards Bill will have only 30 hours of public submissions to the Select Committee. Luxon is playing the game that small children do; "I can't see you so you can't see me". He appears to be hoping that his absence will protect him from criticism. He is the archetypal 'promoted beyond his competence'.
Seymour is mounting personal attacks on academics who have 'dared' to criticise the Bill. As Labour MP Willie Jackson has written, it is bad enough that he mocks opposition MPs, but to descend to name calling of those experts in law who dare to critique the Bill is unprecedented and shows how unfit he is to have any position such as he is abusing presently.
Fascism is entering NZ politics by frontal assault and by stealth.
