With brass knobs on

The gate posts needed some kind of finial.
I saw these brass bed knobs on eBay and took a punt.
I was the only bidder.
They were shiny. Too shiny.
I put them in a plastic bag with aluminium foil, vinegar, bleach and salt. Plus a rusty nail for good measure.
It’s largely experimental and ongoing.
