Turntable
Busy day. Fortunately I only had to get up once in the night. A visit from a Nightingale nurse this morning. Hopefully we now have a solution to disturbed nights.
Then an appointment with Richard’s Neurologist. Always a relief to get parked in time for the appointment.
We have had a lot of appointments in the last few weeks but feel better now things are happening. I was armed with a list so I didn’t forget anything. We requested a test to see if it is hereditary. We need to read about the process and then Richard needs to give his consent. Unfortunately the process is very slow and may take up to a year. The consultant warned that may be after Richard has passed away. However two of our three sons want to know as this will help them to decide if they will go ahead and have children. Apparently it is quite rare but it is important for us to know one way or the other. Usually patients where it is hereditary have symptoms earlier in life so fingers crossed.
Richard played rugby and also had several head injuries which required trips to A and E. This put him at higher risk but as it is still unknown what causes MND it may not be relevant.
This was taken on a short walk at the turntable. Like the mix of wildflowers and rolling stock.
