Alnmouth

After yesterday’s exertions we decided to stay on clear pathways with little climbing. We visited Craster again and walked along the coastal path to Cullernose Point, Howick Scar and the Black Hole. Back in Craster the fish smoking business was open and we bought some very nice smoked salmon fish cakes for our tea.

After lunch we visited Alnmouth a very interesting coastal village. We explored the village with its very old buildings and walked back along the river viewing the row of brightly coloured houses. At the estuary there is this view looking towards a hill on the top of which is a large cross.

A relaxing day.
