Birthday Blonde...
Today Lola turned 8! Already! Time is going too fast.
After going to bed in agony last night, I woke this morning, tentatively moved and was relieved to find the horrendous pain in my left hip and leg had eased. Thank heavens as it really is debilitating. The only thing I can think that may have caused it is sitting in the one position for most of yesterday afternoon, so engrossed in cookery books! I can get the pain if I sit too long in the studio painting, but I usually change position before it gets so bad. Lesson learned, again!
Lola has had a lovely birthday. A long walk on the lower slopes of the Ochil Hills with D, a lovely lunch, fun in the garden and a snooze on the sofa. Oh and some special treats and a new blankie :-) More pics in extras.
Lots of cuddles too and some crunchy veggies (cucumber, tomatoes, peppers) leftover from the fattoush salad that we had for dinner with jerk chicken and new potatoes. Delish!
Not wanting to risk inflaming my hip again by sitting too long in my wheels, I spent a chunk of the day with my feet up crocheting the heart blanket. Really need to get on with it as I suspect I won't get much crochet done when our Skye friends arrive in a couple of weeks!
There's been some sort of insect buzzing really loudly in the garden room the last couple of days. Despite opening the windows and the roof lights, it's battered itself against the frames instead of escaping. Today it landed exhausted on the floor. D scooped it into a glass and released it outside.
We think it was a giant dark horsefly (see extras) which is a bit spooky as my blip a year ago today notes that Alan's support worker Penny was bitten by one of these and suffered a nasty reaction. So glad we managed to get rid of this one safely. Shudders
