Circling The Circles At Reuthe's, Sevenoaks

We found this idiosyncratic place called Reuthe's a few years ago just after it opened but hadn't been back in a long time so thought we'd pay it a visit today. It's a mixture of a cafe/bistro, a nursery and a "lost garden". It has quite a strange entrance - a single track dirt road (with only two passing places) through woodland which then opens up into the car park with the cafe up a little hill further beyond.
We parked the car and headed straight to the cafe for a sausage bap and a drink each (I had an iced latte and my brother a cold soft drink). It was all really good value and tasted great to boot (their cappuccinos are superb as well).
We then decided to have a walk round the "lost garden" (it cost £3 each for entry) which was incredibly steep in places but which, weirdly, seemed to be mainly ferns and heavy tree cover. Every now and again we came across a clearing where there was a platform or a marquee with a dining space underneath it. It was at one these spaces that I took today's appropriately idiosyncratic image of an outdoor stage light caught in the dappled sunlight. It's a bit of a follow on from yesterday's flags shot in that  Iwas trying to capture it's form and shape in an interesting way. I hope I succeeded!
On the way home, as it was such a nice day, we stopped off in Otford for a pint at the newly refurbished Bull. Unfortunately this involved newly refurbished prices as well - our pints were £7.20 each! The Kent record for most expensive pint had been breached again. The service was perfunctory as well so we will not be returning any time soon. We didn't even take our glasses back to the bar which is rare occurrence for us but we were so unimpressed that it felt somehow justified.
We will definitely revisit Reuthe's again for food and a drink but maybe not the "lost garden".
