Under Water…..

We have had a lot of rain. The Taylor River is in flood but is confined within its stop-bank system through town. There is surface flooding making for detours in some roads…. Rural areas are hard hit as shown in the vineyard pictured here tonight. Many folk have had to be evacuated from the Spring Creek township to the north of Blenheim. It is hoped that a critical stop-bank abutting the Wairau River will not fail. The drama and worries continue. Weather conditions are also dire over the Whangamoa Ranges in the Nelson Tasman area. Hopefully the bad weather will move away from the top of the South Island in the next day or so. Stay safe and warm and dry my friends.
