Waiting...

...for Tim Minchin to come on stage.

MrM finished work slightly early this afternoon so we could drive to Leeds to meet Tom, and have a meal with him before going to the First Direct Arena. We ate at Zizzi's - the main courses were good and the desserts fabulous!

Then on to the Arena. Our seats were quite a long way from the stage, and (being vertically challenged) I was a little worried about whether I'd be able to see, but no problem with tiered seats! And a big screen. No photography allowed during the performance, so you have the backdrop. Tim Minchin and his band were absolutely brilliant! What energy! Three hours of songs and stories passed in a flash...

This afternoon I read a piece about how little money artistes earn from streaming, and how much it helps to buy merchandise. That was my excuse, anyway, for breaking the habit of a lifetime and buying a tour T-shirt...

Just time for a quick drink afterwards with Tom, before he left for his train and we walked back to the van. We'd offered him a lift, but his assertion that it would be quicker by train was correct - we'd hardly left the car park when he texted that he was home.
