Morris Minor Van

While away in Anglesey this week, my nearside brake light decided to give up the ghost. So, this morning, I set about changing the bulb.

Once again, I was foiled by the same plastic nut hidden inside the rear wing, accessible only by pulling back the boot carpet. It’s  awkward to reach at the best of times and downright impossible to loosen by hand if it’s been overtightened—which, of course, it had.

After a fair bit of muttering, I admitted defeat (again) and drove down to Halfords. I paid for the privilege of having them sort out what really should be a simple, five-minute job.

While I was there, I spotted a beautifully pristine Morris Minor Van parked nearby  in the car park.

Then it was back home to load up the car with a few bits from the garage, including the now-defunct lawnmower, ready for my afternoon appointment at the household waste and recycling site in Denbigh.
