Petunia
What promised to be a stress - free day (wash the car, a lunchtime swim, a relaxing afternoon) proved to be anything but.
When I got the car out of the garage, the garage door wouldn’t close again: cue a call to our friendly garage door repair man who came tp our rescue when the door fell off completely a couple of years back.
While I was washing the car, I noticed that someone had scraped the bottom of the front wing, presumably while parking or reversing out of a parking space. Not much damage but enough to be annoying.
At least the door man arrived early afternoon and quickly solved the problem. Part of the mechanism had dropped slightly: a quick nip and tuck with a screw and a couple of washers and £30 later it was all done, and the pristine (ish) car was back in the garage.
The relaxing afternoon disappeared in a drawn out phone call to our internet provider when we lost our connection for the 5th time today. It’s been getting worse all week and when I’d gone through the on line fault reporting process and received a text telling me they would send out an engineer( the 3rd one in recent weeks!) on the morning of 20th June, I decided to try to speak to a human to discover whether their engineers had become time travellers!
Eventually the automated reply system deigned to connect me to a human who was able to assure me that the computer had sent the text in error, the fault was definitely in the network and the engineer would be able to sort it without access to our house and it would all be sorted by early next week. I pointed out that they told me something very similar the last two times and it didn’t quite turn out that way but he was adamant all would be well.
Thankfully it was almost time for a large pre-dinner G&T!
Anyway here’s one of our petunias for Flower Friday
