Rhubarb
This afternoon was all about rhubarb. My own patch is still establishing itself but FP has a *lot* of it. She had given me some earlier and gave me even more at yoga on Wednesday. It was a generous allocation and I made two batches of Rhubarb and Ginger jam to add to the batch I'd made earlier. That should last me until next year (and some). I will stew the rest over the weekend and freeze it.
This morning I went swimming and got chatting to a woman who was visiting Pitlochry on her way to see family further north. It turned into a very interesting conversation - she is a writer, actor and had recently trained as a yoga teacher and we had a good discussion about Nan Shepherd, retelling of Greek myths and Celtic months.
Glastonbury appears to be dominating the headlines but all eyes in Pitlochry will be on the stages at the recreation ground as our local festival Heartland kick off. I really enjoyed the first one last year and am looking forward to the second - a mix of familiar and less familiar acts and the promise of sunshine (and I can go home to my own bed!). Should be fun.
