SKIPPERS

I went to the woodland park today for the first time in ages and was surprised to see how much more overgrown it is, and that the wildflower meadows have become long grass meadows with far fewer flowers visible. However there were quite a few butterflies around, busily following each other's pheromone trails while a lot of flies and bitey insects were following me. I stood and watched a little group of small skippers chasing each other around this clump of willow herb for a while, but I don't think I'll go back very soon. At least I'll wait until bitey insect season has abated.
