Lisbon and Mourão

Packed up our things from the lovely apartment we stayed in the center of Lisbon and set off to meet Savannah without too much drama.

Then we all enjoyed an amazing brunch at Honest Greens in the Parque das Nações.
I had a deicious wild mushroom toast with a base of roasted eggplants, sautéed spinach, shiitake, shimeji, oyster, mushrooms, Portobello, trumpet mushrooms, truffled crème fraiche, pearl onions, dill and hazelnut dukkah. And unlimited infused water is with fruit, vegetables, and fresh herbs. What a feast of delights!

We had a wander around the stunning Parque das Nações, with a long row of flags depicting every country in the world in alphabetical order.

One of my favorite sights was the Street Art by Bordalo II of a Lynx. This was one of several large scale 3 dimensional sculptures displayed in various locations across Lisbon, entitled “Big Trash Animals”, part of series of street art of endangered animals, all made from recycled waste.

After sorting some things out at the large shopping mall, where it was a comfortable temperature, we set off for Mourão across the Vasco da Gama Bridge spanning the Tagus River, noted for being the longest bridge in the European Union.

We also managed to pick up some groceries in Évora on the way, while Mike drove Jeanette and Savannah around the town to see some of the Roman architecture still standing there.

Now we are all settling into Daveen and Mike’s amazing one-of-a-kind home, full of beautiful and creative homeyness! It’s so nice to be back and see all the improvements and extensions added since our last visit 2 years ago.
