Temporary Quarters

We finally got the thunder and rain last night that’s been promised for days. But I was glad hubby and I went over and watered my sister’s plants before it arrived. Some were quite droopy. She spends so much time and money gardening that I’ll gladly help her keep her vegetables and flowers in good shape. My first order of business this morning was gathering the frozen and perishable items and moving them to the camper refrigerator/freezer. Hubby and I packed the camper and truck with everything else we needed (we thought). I fed the birds, picked my squash, pulled some weeds and froze more blueberries. We left the driveway at 10:30. The trip was fine, some traffic jams here and there, to be expected on a summer Friday. We decided to set up camp and then grab lunch. Our truck does not have a GPS system and our Garmin must not have all the updates. We ended up on a dead end road with no idea where the base front gate was. We passed a few gates that were closed when we finally got our bearings using Google maps. At least we were heading in the right direction. We found our campsite around 1:00. We have concrete pads so if we get the forecasted storms every day, we should be fine. I decided to go minimalist this weekend. I’m just not up for doing more that what we must have. When we go to Pocahontas in July, I will do better. After hubby got the camper detached from the truck and level, I went inside to set up housekeeping. It took me seconds to realize my mistake. Last Fall, I removed all linens from the camper and washed them with Febreeze infused detergent so they were fresh again (no more DampRid fragrance). Everything was folded neatly and stacked in an upstairs bedroom. With my bum foot, I hardly go upstairs so I forgot all about that stuff. We have 2 wash cloths, one towel and three tea towels. They were being used to protect my few breakable dishes/cups. Fortunately, I always put a clean bottom sheet on the bed when we break camp to hold the thick pad in place. Geez. I am hoping Jamie will bring us some linens. We finally went to Chipotle and decided it will be our lunch and dinner. It is sprinkling and actually chilly. Of course, I brought sleeveless shirts and capris expecting more very warm weather. We will get everything ready for attending the tournament and readinside. Wishing you a fun filled weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “It feels good to get lost in the right direction.” – Anonymous
