Jeaniebean the dog is nine years old today. She is such a star that I decided she deserved not only an extra snack, but a rosette for Best Dog.

She posed beautifully for photos, and was quite nonchalant about the whole thing, until her nose got that little bit closer to the minced wallaby croquette. 

A second after I took the extra the treat had suddenly, silently, and quite mysteriously disappeared; leaving the candle lying on the plate. 

Magic does happen...
