DESERT WILLOW
I saw this tree, with these beautiful trumpet shaped flowers, in the park,
while walking with Angus. Although it is not in the Willow family of trees,
it is native to the Southwestern US, so it is drought tolerant, & thrives in full sun.
Its leaves are willow-like, on weeping branches, which may be how it earned its common name. The flowers can be pink, purple or white & are attractive to hummingbirds & other pollinators.
I'm smitten.
