Torrent

This is usually just a tiny trickle.  So insignificant that for most of my years living in Murchison I didn't know it existed.  There has been a bit of rain so it's a gusher today.  Full torrent in extras.

I was headed for Nelson today but there has been so much rain that all roads between here and there are closed due to flooding and slips.  Lucky I'm travelling in a campervan.

And even luckier that my wonderful cousin Gary worked out how to disconnect the battery alarm for me - so I could travel without it screaming at me the whole way AND I'll actually be able to sleep tonight.  

I owe you many, many coffees Gary!

I will see if the roads open tomorrow morning - if not I guess I'll be looping round  through Kaikoura and Blenheim as the van is booked in for some repairs in Nelson this week - not the least of which is having that alarm sorted!
