The White Horse, Winterbourne Down
A really nice lunch here, just off the M4 north of Bristol. It also happens to be just across the road from where Eliza Hush was born in 1841. She was Orla and Conor's 3x Great Grandmother who migrated to Chelmsford then West Ham. The pub is also just a couple of miles from the offices where Dad worked for Friends Life back in 2012. Dad didn't know at that time of the family connection.
We were on our way to our accommodation for the next two nights in the Brecon Beacons. We stopped at Tesco in Merthyr Tydfil on the way. It was raining when we arrived, which was actually quite nice after all the sun and heat in London. We had pizza and chips for dinner.
