260mm Rain
It has been a fraught two days with torrential rain, flooding and an eighteen hour power cut. The Motueka River broke its banks and there's widespread damage to properties and infrastructure. The usually benign little creek here turned into a raging torrent and deposited tonnes of sand as well as slash and logs from forestry operations.further up the valley All the animals and birds are safe and four ewes stranded on the other side of the creek are being sensible and aren't trying to join the rest of the flock on this side.
Thank you for your kind remarks regarding Thursday's blip milestone. They are much appreciated and I will acknowledge them individually over the coming week.
