Patterns of life

It doesn’t need to be perfect

A wee trip to Glendevon today to visit a garden open for Scotland’s Garden Scheme this weekend. Tarmangie is a beautiful, slightly wild garden which just shows that you don’t need to pull every weed and clip every edge.

Speaking to the owner we were struck by his plant knowledge and liked his philosophy which is not to pull weeds out but to encourage his plants to crowd them out.

As usual a new addition to our own garden was purchased, something a bit more unusual but we are assured is very hardy - ozothamnus, a new one on me but a lovely silvery shrub with white flowers.
