Its the Way It Is

Georgian Doors of Dublin

A friend of mine from Howth rang me last week. I haven’t seen her in over a year. She had a friend over from the UK. Her friend wanted to look at some Georgian doors, photograph them and then go into the park, paint the door we liked and have a little picnic. We decided on Merrion Square Park.

I’m on the bus into Dublin at noon today with my paints, a fold up chair and some ham/pickle sandwiches and flask…. And my phone rang. It was my friend to cancel the trip because she just heard on the radio that the Pride Parade was on. And was ending up in Merrion Square Park. Shock Horror. ‘Ah no don’t cancel’ I said. ‘It’ll be a bit of craic’. But no they were adamant.

I continued on to the destination and despite a few showers had a great time.

My main blip is a Georgian Door (Dublin is known for them)

but I didn’t get a chance to paint any. The Pride Parade was quite a spectacle and I was glad I got to see it.

First extra is my chair under a tree where I scoffed all the sandwiches which were made for 3 people. Also shelter from the rain.

Second extra speaks for itself. I hope you like it.

So friend from Howth and UK friend missed out on a fun afternoon.
