Old Webs & Rust

Saturday. Sunny and warm from the start, it was a beautiful day. The house was quiet—Vanessa’s working this weekend, and Milo is flying out to Spain, somewhere near Malaga, for his holiday with Liv and a big group of friends. It was a lovely day to potter about in the garden, and I took advantage of the contrasty light and deep shadows to find interesting compositions close to home. In this case, it’s an old metal weather vane, rich with rust and verdigris, and festooned with spider webs.
