Citrus Swallowtails
I’ve been on a double shift at the butterfly house today - normal Saturday morning and then Twilight at the Butterfly house from 7-9pm this evening. Our resident entomologist and some of the volunteers had put out a moth trap last night and collected some nice examples to show the visitors. It’s the first time we’ve had an event on in the evening and it went quite well. We all learned a lot anyway.
The citrus swallowtails in my blip are at it again, doing their bit for the species. These one are the recently emerged home bred ones whose caterpillars have eaten all the leaves off our lime plants!! I’m not sure that we’ve got any host plants left for them to lay their eggs on now….
