Tomatoes

A very early start today to get to my local park for 0700 to help set the course out for one of Cancer Research UK's 10k/5k/3k Race For Life events. Not helped by a very disrupted night with, first; Not Child 2 coming in from work about an hour after I'd gone to bed, collecting that sound like a number of beer bottles and then going out again, I presume to some party somewhere; second, an idiot letting off fireworks at about 0100, terrifying the local dogs and my cats and then; third, a gust of wind* at about 0400 that slammed all the doors (the windows all being open as it was so warm.

The set up was finished after an hour or so and I moved on to manning one of the marshalling points on the course for the rest of the morning. By the time the runners had started the sun had burnt off the clouds a bit and the last few people will have found it extra hard. I'm full of admiration for everyone who took part.

Home for lunch and a bit of sitting around before I go and water the tomatoes a bit later.
