Aberdeen
Full disclosure, I took this picture on Saturday but meant to blip on Friday. Hope you’ll forgive me.
Early dogwalk with Phin before stretch class. It’s a good way to get the body going in the morning. Mr PHL dropped Phin at daycare and we got ourselves organised to head to Aberdeen for the day.
Traffic was pretty busy and with several hours of roadworks, the journey took about an hour longer than normal.
We had a lovely visit with Mr PHL’s sister’s dog Elsa before we left her at home and went for a very late lunch at a nearby pub. Her husband was taken into Roxburgh house during the week as he’s battling a couple of infections and higher than usual calcium levels so we drove there after lunch. He was looking quite frail and finished but I guess you do when you’re an inpatient under the covers in bed.
He seemed pleased to see up but we didn’t stay too long as he was tired and a bit confused. The doctor was very reassuring and confirmed that he won’t be released until they’ve got the infections under control. R was struggling to care for him at home along with working full time and has only recently been getting support for part of the day. It’s nighttime that is more difficult for her to deal with and there’s not been any support available then. Hopefully they will manage to put a suitable plan in place for A’s care going forward that works for them both.
We dropped R back at their house and got back on the road. Much less traffic on the way home thankfully and we were home by just after 8.
Thanks to BikerBear for hosting FlowerFriday. The nasturtiums have burst into flower.
