Golf
Another very hot day at 31C. The morning started overcast but when the sun came through it was very warm.
Luke recently joined a golf club in London - he got an under 30 special deal on the joining fees - and invited us to play today at his club. The Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Golf Club was established in 1894 and it sits on a hill with wonderful views over London. Luke, Adam, Gavin and I played and Anna joined us for a while then rested in the cool shade of the club house.
I found the course quite challenging - it is very narrow with long carries from the tee to the fairway, and there are many trees on the edge of the fairway so you have to hit straight. The women's tee was also usually only 1 meter or less from the men's tee so I never got much of an advantage! We played 18 holes and I was surprised we lasted in the heat, but I enjoyed it very much.
Afterwards Adam and Anna went to visit a friend who lives nearby before going on to Cambridge where Adam will be for the week. He has meetings at his previous lab tomorrow and then the prize giving ceremony tomorrow evening - we are not going to it as it's not that kind of ceremony, but his lab PI will be.
More hot weather tomorrow!
