A Good Crowd

Assembled in Queens Park, Loughborough, to listen to the Melbourne Town Band on the bandstand. The grass has almost completely dried out in the heat and lack of rain.

Ken and Barbie (extra) were close to us again, laid out on their blanket. What do they do all night? I recognised them from Barbie's pink trainers and the way they were laid out.

The programme was varied and the musicians played for one and a half hours.

Cloud cover kept the temperature well down so it was really comfortable. I fear tomorrow may be much worse.

As I was leaving, I spotted a moorhen feeding two tiny chicks on the pond near the gate. Also an extra.
