Wanderings and meanders

Pause to smell the roses

Saughton Rose Garden, Edinburgh

I had the rose garden practically to myself for a fair while. There was just enough breeze to raise the scent of the roses; it seemed the white ones in particular. A morning wandering around and reading a book in the sunshine.

Walked down the Water of Leith, seeing skipper butterflies and ducklings near Murrayfield. The path got busy near Belford Road, then there were crowds in Dean village and along the rest of the path. A quick turn around Stockbridge market then up to the Botanics. Some more reading, a shady bench this time.
