Basin bob

Maldon Prom parkrun first thing  ... and I was lacking my usual va-va-voom until 1/2k into the run. Then I spotted a lady running alongside me; neither of us spoke, instead we both kept a steady pace, greatful to have each other as a target, so we kept going in the heat. Delighted; my first parkrun without walking in a long time. Shattered from the heat, I found a shady place to stretch with parkrun pals.

Then we met up with the team for coffee and a chat. E and G had fun dealing with anomalies in the results and I enjoyed conversation with M, MLaM and G.

Home to rest, then bike to the basin for a bob. (Frustration of a broken chain didn't deter me.) Beautiful 23 degrees in the water, with little wind, so we made it to the elbow buoy before heading back with the tide. The lovely MLaM had brought a snack - pure luxury - smoked salmon sandwiches, strawberries and cherries. All our senses satisfied.

Slight issue of forgotten watch quickly resolved, and then cycle home past all the congestion.

Then a restful afternoon and evening reading my latest book by Paula Hawkins.

Another perfect day
