MOTORHEAD SUNDAY

It's Trans Am weekend at Road America and we had a special guest today. This young man was granted a "wish" by the Make-A-Wish Foundation where seriously ill children get to have a wish fulfilled.  As young as he is, he's a race fan and wanted to ride in a pace car.

Not only was that wish granted, he got to give "the command" before the race started and then was allowed to watch the Green Flag drop from the roof of the media tower, after which the family retired to air conditioned Suite 3 which was a refreshing change from the heat and humidity and where food and drink were served.

He also participated in the "fan walk" before the race where the race fans can walk among the race cars on the grid and talk to the drivers.  He met several and it was delightful to see how many drivers and team members bent over backwards to see that this youngster had a great time.  He was all smiles.  And some water came to my eyes.
