15 in the side pocket
lots of history here:
This is Grandpop's old pool table.
After Dale died, Scintilla rescued it from her basement and had it restored. It is an antique Brunswick.
At Christmas, Grandpop would spread out bags of unwrapped presents that he had Curtis pick up at SEARS: transistor radios, belt buckles, can openers, handkerchiefs, whiskey glasses, whatever was in the sales aisle at SEARS for Christmas.
If you wanted first choice of a Christmas present you needed to go see Grandpop early, so you could pick out your present amongst all the items displayed on the pool table.
Everyone avoided Grandpop because of his legendary temper. I wasn't afraid of him, so I remember getting a transistor radio one year.
After he retired, Grandpop would sit in his old leather chair watching "I love Lucy " reruns and chewing on his cigars. He didn't smoke cigars, just chewed them down to a stub as if they were a chaw of chewing tobacco.
While he watched TV, Grandpop would listen to us kids play pool and if we miscued he would give us hell. One time my cousin Mike had accidentally ripped the felt on the pool table when he missed a shot. Grandpop wouldn't let us kids forget it.
Grandpop wore a derby hat, always drove a fancy sports car, and had a handlebar moustache just like an old movie villain, or a member of a barbershop quartet...
He was definitely from another time and era
