Abbey House

Road works everywhere today. 
Drove round the corner snd there were temporary traffic lights.. stuck on red. Sat for well over 10 minutes before it was obvious. 

3 point turn and went down the side road which was full of cars trying to avoid the lights.

Went to Abbey House. Overcast day..not the hot weather of down south. 

Went up to the garden centre 2 miles up the road but more road works . The lights turned green but someone at the opposite end had decided to lead the traffic the other way ( one car jumps the lights and the rest follow.) So we had to do what the cars in front were doing, mount the pavement to squeeze past ! 

Got a pieris and osmanthus to fill the gap left where the massive privet had been . It had grown to 18 foot! 

Drove back a different route but ...more road works and temporary lights stuck on red. 
Very cautiously went through. 
Glad to be home safely
