A very memorable day today - my mother paying floral tribute to my late father who was honoured along with departed eminent photographers - while my youngest son photographed the moment (the young boy with the camera on the background) - on the celebration function of World Photography Day observed by our photo club on 19th August 2013 at Manipur Press Club.

The dais is adorned by the Hon'ble Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Shri Th. Lokeshwar who also happens to be our patron member as the chief guest of the function; Dr. Kh. Ratankumar, Hon'ble Minister Transport & Works, Manipur who is also our patron member; Pu T.N. Haokip, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Manipur; Shri Bijoy Koijam, Former Member of Legislative Assembly, Manipur; Shri Wangkhemcha Shamjai, President, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union - as the guests of honour, and Shri Yambem Laba, President of Manipur Amateur Photo Club as the president of the function respectively.

On the microphone is Chitra Ahanthem, Resident Editor, Imphal Free Press who is the Publicity Secretary of our club.

The function is attended by invitees who are photo enthusiasts, photographers, family members of the departed photographers, seasoned and aged photographers, young photographers, photojournalists, journalists, the press, All India Radio, Doordarshan (DDK TV), N.E. TV, Prime News, ISTV, other media persons, well wishers amongst others.

The function comprises of paying tributes to departed photographers, presenting mementos to contributors who are working towards the promotion of photographic medium, opening of a photo exhibition and a series of lecture - followed by a delicious luncheon of fish, as usual.
