Poppy bud and seed head

Whew!
It has been a bit too hot outside again today. Glad to be able to go swimming - the water was deliciously cool and refreshing.
Barnstaple was once again snagged up with traffic - a busy section of the main road to Braunton was being resurfaced  so traffic was backing up both sides of the river and tempers were fraying!
At home I couldn't find inspiration for a blip so resorted to the poppy about to burst forth and seed heads growing fast.....hopefully full of seeds to drop and reappear next year!
Had a visitor pop in for a cuppa and chat, which was great! She'd been trying to shop and was melting in the heat. We are just not geared for very hot weather really.  Shops might have to rethink and use air con on days like these in the future.
