Water lilies.
On our way to the East Coast we stopped off at Burnby Hall, Pocklington.
There was a nice breeze as we walked round the lake and gardens.
What a beautiful place this is.
The water lilies were looking good. Obviously loving the hot sunshine.
I took quite a lot of photos but it had to be a water lily for my main photo.
3rd Extra collage of the lake and cafe.
The gorgeous white Californian tree Poppy.
The restored Edwardian Potting Shed, which reminds me of my grandfather who was a head gardener during this period.
1sr extra of the feeding frenzy of the carp.
2nd extra of our delicious lunch in the cafe.
Our favourite Bits and Bobs. Always a lovely mix of cheese, meats etc. Nice to sit out in the shade on such a hot day.
We are now settled into our cottage at Bempton, which is fortunately nice and cool.
Looking forward to visiting the cliffs tomorrow morning and seeing all the sea birds.
Maybe including a puffin or two, but it’s the gannets I love.
