Being arty

KG found this fused glass workshop where for a fee you could make your own glass art. So today we had a class. The instructors gave us some basic instruction on how the process works and then provided the chips of glass and all the colors from coarse ground to super fine ground glass. Almost like sparkles for cookies!

I made a mountain scene, KG made a multicolor bird.

After we made our art we had to leave it for them to take it to a kiln for “fusing”. I was okay with my mountain sunrise scene but am anxious to see what it looks like melted together. This will have a hanging wire on it to hang in a window. KG will have a sturdy stick so she can stand her bird in her flowerbed.

The business does wholesale glass decorations that they ship to various gift shops and stores around the country. The shop had other kind of art and I probably could have purchased several beauties but I was strong and did not!

Plus we have ideas now for making art from glass stuff we have.
