Lily in a Pot

Mainly weeding a newish bearded iris bed this afternoon. It’s dotted in the hot corner to make sure that the corms get a good baking which is necessary for flowers the following year. I’m looking at ways of extending the bed as I love the spectacular display and the amazingly colourful flowers, even though they don’t last very long. I bought a couple of Benton End plants last year and want to include them, as well as splitting/increasing Iris ‘Jane Philips’. Watered the pots and borders at the front of the house this evening and took time to appreciate this delightfully dramatic lily.
