All trains are cancelled!!

So we arrived at a surprisingly quiet Lockerbie station this morning for our trip to London,  to discover that there were no trains.   

A 'replacement taxi' was leaving to Carlisle in 40 minutes but this would mean us missing our connection. So the wonderful station mistress (?), found us a stand by taxi to take us, just the two of us, to Carlisle straight away.  We then easily made the London train, which was the only one running for the next few hours!   The rest of the journey was smooth and we arrived in Surrey at Jane's sister's dead on time!  Lucky given the circumstances! 

Very much enjoyed a cold beer with the relatives in their garden.
