Crowded House

This maybe the last photo of the nestling Tree Swallows that I will take. The parent birds, who have ignored me up until now, scolded me in no uncertain terms a short while after I took this picture. So unless I set up a blind (and I might) I won't be hanging around the swallow house anymore. I don't want to risk premature fledging. I wasn't the only recipient of the swallows ire either - they were also strafing any squirrel that they could find. I can testify that it's not a pleasant experience.

I don't know how many baby birds are in the box. Swallows lay up to 7 eggs, in which case the house will get very crowded indeed. I'm going to miss them when they are gone.
