Grumpy Old Man

A warm day by the river

Today my nephew Dave was picking me up at 9am for a trip to Henley to see the Regatta, or maybe to see the people who go to Henley to see the Regatta! Promising the warmest day of the week it was reasonably sunny when we set off and having arrived in Henley we parked the car at a friend's house higher up the town as most parking spots had been taken.

We began with a cuppa and then walked on to the towpath and up alongside the river. Loads of interestingly dressed people around and I took photographs wherever I could - my Blip today! Later on we found a shady spot under some trees and I cadged a couple of chairs from a stallholder and we sat and had our lunch, then relaxed and watched some of the races. By mid-afternoon we'd had enough and after a cooling ice cream we set off for the entrance and up the hill to the car. We were invited in and sat in my friend's cool lounge and enjoyed tea and shortbread.

Back to my sister's by 5.45 - a fun day out!
