Diary of an Edinburgher

Sore leg!

Our usual walk this morning turned out to be not so usual... for Archie appeared from the grass, LIMPING! He held up his paw up to show me. Now, when this happens - it's not unknown - it's always a twig, or a thorn. But this time there was nothing there. He hadn't jumped off a bench, just walked through grass. But he continued to hobble all the way around the park. And all the way home.

While we were having this drama, JR went off with Hazel to see where she gets her car washed, because they're very good. And it now looks brand new. Well, apart from the ding in the back (Waitrose car park, we reckon).

Anyway, by sheer coincidence, Archie had his 6 month vet check up this afternoon, and a new inoculation which requires two shots, exactly a month apart. Juggling the two dates in between holidays was tricky! The vet moved his leg (Archie’s!) this way and that. Then I said, 'Wrong leg', and showed the photo to prove it. But the vet reckoned his ankles wrists were a bit stiff. Possible arthritis, keep an eye on it, but no long walks for a few days.

He had another wee toddle around the block this evening, but wasn't keen to go far.

I watched tennis this morning, and - wait for it - did not waste time lounging on the sofa, I was peddling away on the bike for a whole half hour! If I'd had my phone in my pocket, my step count would be excellent. But I didn't, and it isn't.
