An Emerald Is As Green As Grass
The hottest day of the year and fifty-five years since MrQ and I were married. He struggled terribly with the heat in 2022, got awful cramps and thought he was going to die. I'm glad he's at peace and hasn't had to suffer today.
I mentioned in an earlier blip about a paper heart impregnated with seeds given to us by the funeral directors. I broke it into pieces and sowed them in two pots. The only thing to germinate was one poppy and lots of what looks like some sort of tree or shrub. The poppy bloom has been developing gradually and is now holding itself up. I had hoped it would bloom today. A ladybird was hiding in its foliage so I relocated it for my pic.
I've added a small skipper in the grass to extras. Fifty-five years is the emerald anniversary.
