Emergency Buttons

It's almost nine pm and, having just emerged from my bath, I realised I hadn't taken a blip!  What to do as the light fades?  My sewing box is out on the coffee table with a twiddlemuff awaiting twiddles, so it's a kaleidoscope of some of my buttons.

The morning was spent in Leeds doing financial stuff at the building society.  We paid in the coins which Auntie M saves for Euan, took out some cash for the charity curry on Monday and did some twiddling with accounts to make them work better for us.  Then it was off to Smiths for some whiteboard makers, an abortive call in at the outdoor shop for Scottish walking guides (not a one to be found), a mobile cable bought from PC World in the hope that I can finally understand the instructions of how to transfer my data from my old Fairphone to my new one.  I think it might have to wait until we stop off at J & P's.  We attempted cuppas and toasted teacakes in Waterstones Cafe but they were sold out of teacakes (what?!) and the boiler was broken so no tea to be had either and we fell back on croissants at Pret before going for the train.

The Northern trains on our route are now six carriages (lots of passengers hoofing it forwards as we pulled into Saltaire where the platform isn't long enough for the new train.). I must say that we were impressed with The Bradfordian and are well served for trains along the Aire Valley.  There were two guards on the train because at some stations the train went around a bend and they had to communicate with each other that everyone was on and clear!

Back home we ate lunch then it was up to the allotment for a couple of hours picking blackcurrants, three and a half pounds worth and still lots more to ripen.  That'll be coulis then!  Whilst Tony prepared dinner I washed some rocks (!) for painting by the children at the next Drying Ground day.  I also finished washing the various bits of broken crockery we uncovered when digging, which we shall attempt to use as mosaic.

After dinner Sophie messaged to say she was doing an hour in the ground so I joined her and pulled up lots of bracken.
