The dog that went up a hill
It's not much of a hill, and in the photo it is not apparent that it's even a bit of a hill but behind Ziggy, and in front of where I'm standing it's very steep.
He was totally distracted, sniffing around as dogs do, so I climbed up one side of this mound and down the other side. I could just see him in the dip and I clicked my 'clicky tin', in which I keep the small treats of sausage. It immediately grabs his attention and he scrambled up one side, and down to the other to sit in front of me and wait for his bit of sausage.
He was also at Doggy School this evening. He does very well at the obedience stuff, Sit, Down, Stay and Wait, Zig Zagging through a line of cones (off the lead), recall etc. What he is completely not interested in, and I can't seem to get him interested, is fetching and scenting (where he has to pick out his cloth amongst about half a dozen other cloths). I'll keep persevering after the girls have left us, we'll have more time for training at home then.
Difference between 'Stay' and 'Wait' is when you command him to Stay he knows you are coming back to him. Wait means you will go away and call him to you.
