alpine treasures
My friend who invited me to her condo in Breckenridge has a special love for alpine forget-me-nots. So despite threats of thunderstorms by noon, we drove up Boreas Pass (elevation 11,500 feet), arriving at about 9:45 am. We then proceeded to climb up another 500 feet or so to look at the alpine flowers above tree level. When we arrived at our destination at 10:45 the clouds were building up. but the flowers were gorgeous so we stayed for 20 minutes (see extra). As we were on our way back down to the car a few raindrops fell, but we made back by noon.
So now we feel like we are successful treasure hunters, as the lightening and thunder are raging outside!
