Sweltering

July has arrived and it certainly felt like it today. It was hot work volunteering this morning. We were outside in the garden working on the brassica beds. We had frequent breaks to drink water and at tea break, rather than eating cake we enjoyed ice lollies. Afterwards we stayed under an awning in the relative cool and transplanted young vegetable plants. Once home I ate lunch and retreated to the cool, dark living room and fell asleep for nearly an hour!

My blip shows one of the huge lavender hedges in the garden at Tuppenny Barn. Today it was filled with busy bees.
