Lopping

We had a second go at lopping one of our large copper birch trees this afternoon before the rains came. 
The Head Gardener likes to have the canopy raised each summer. I think it spoils the look of the tree but our other one (to the right out of shot) does not get such treatment and looks better to my eye.
Part of the issue with having the left one raised is thinking of our next door neighbour and it hanging low over their drive.
During Autumn we share the leaves from these two trees with a large part of the village!
