Well, whatever next?

The House Martins have shunned the Dolly Parton house that I went to great pains to provide for them.

They are now building another nest under the eaves, just a few feet away.

I give up, presumably they know what they are doing.

The long hot spell of weather, and lack of rain means they are struggling to find 'good mud' and have left it very late. Other pairs have raised their young already.
